Agarèn is a ceramic narrative that fuses history and design to revive the myths of the Sicilian Moors, represented by the famous Moor Heads, an iconic symbol of Sicily. The tradition of these heads dates back to an ancient legend from the 12th century, where a passionate Moor and a young Sicilian woman fell in love. Tragically, the Moor hides his wife and children in the East, which leads to a violent act where the young woman cuts off his head. However, she plants basil inside her and cries for her loved one, perpetuating her care. This ceramic story celebrates this fascinating story of love and sacrifice.
